You don’t know what you don’t know

Most people are completely familiar with the terms “court proceedings” and “negotiations”. A few more people understand what “mediation” is and perhaps what “arbitration” is, but very few people understand what “collaborative law”, “early neutral evaluation”, “collab arb” or “private FDR” might mean.

We are specialist family lawyers and therefore we understand the law. The reason we are specialists is because whilst we understand legal processes, we also offer all of these practical solutions and others aimed at resolving any family issue and keeping you out of the court process. Sharon and Lee are mediators and Tara has almost completed her mediation training. Fiona, Tara and John are also collaborative lawyers. We are all experts in using these alternative methods of dispute resolution and are happy to answer any questions that you may have about these processes.

If you visit some lawyers, you may be given a limited choice of court proceedings, negotiations and perhaps mediation. However, there are many more options out there to support you in any situation. This is regardless of whether it is very straight forward and simple, requiring little support and needing a cost-effective, swift solution, or one involving foreign assets, multiple pensions and business assets that may also require the input of accountants or financial advisors.

We offer a fixed fee appointment lasting up to 1 hour to enable you to seek initial advice that is specific to your situation and to consider which process is right for you and your spouse or partner.

If you wish to speak to someone to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact either our Heathfield office (01435 817 060) or Crowborough office (01892 664 348).
